Classic Magnum Anniversary Edition: 265 Years of Craftsmanship

Graf von Faber-Castell celebrates 265 years of Faber-Castell with the new Classic Magnum Anniversary Edition, a limited edition made of Pernambuco wood in the mighty proportions of the Classic Magnum.

Inspiration

For this edition, Graf von Faber-Castell revisited the Classic series, which marked the brand’s debut in the world of fine writing instruments more than three decades ago. The Classic Pernambuco – reportedly the brand’s first fountain pen – was a natural choice for the anniversary edition, while the imposing Magnum format gave it the presence and prestige befitting the occasion.

Design & Materials

At the heart of the edition is the iconic Pernambuco wood, with its finely fluted finish and warm reddish-brown tone that pairs superbly with the platinum-plated parts. Further details include the distinctive fluted cap with its knurled detailing, the solid spring-loaded clip and the anniversary engraving positioned on the clip ring. Each writing instrument is assigned a serial number, engraved on the metal end cap at the end of the wooden barrel.

Writing Experience & Collectibility

The Anniversary Edition is available as a fountain pen and rollerball. The fountain pen features a handmade, Magnum-sized 18K bicolor gold nib and operates via a cartridge-converter filling system. The nib is available in four widths: EF, F, M and B. The rollerball is based on the same chassis and uses a Magnum-format refill with a precision tip.

Both versions are produced in limited quantities. The fountain pen is limited to just 480 pieces, while the rollerball is limited to 190 pieces. Each writing instrument comes in a presentation box with leather inserts. Matching accessories for the occasion include a 75 ml Midnight Blue ink bottle and a Golden Brown A5 notebook with a linen cover.
