Montblanc

Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker: Enter the World of Dracula

Montblanc honors Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, with a new Writers Edition inspired by one of literature's most enduring horror novels. The collection comprises the Writers Edition Limited Edition and the Limited Edition 1897, each interpreting a different facet of Stoker's story through design and craftsmanship.

Inspiration

Drawing inspiration from the novel and Stoker's life, the collection explores the meeting point between mythology and science. Throughout both editions, references to Victorian medicine, theatre, and the world of Dracula are translated into materials, engravings, and sculptural details.

The Editions

Montblanc Writers Edition Limited Edition

The Writers Edition Limited Edition captures the tense moment after a vampire's bite, when good and evil fight for dominance. The body of the pen is crafted from precious resin in a marbled red and black finish, inspired by the mixing of blood and dark poison after a vampire's bite, before science ultimately steps in to save the victim's life.question, as depicted in Dracula.

The cap is engraved with Bram Stoker's signature, while two small marks above the clip reference a vampire's bite. The clip itself also takes inspiration from historical Montblanc designs. The fountain pen is fitted with a solid 18k gold nib engraved with elements from the Stoker family coat of arms.

Montblanc Writers Edition Limited Edition 1897

Limited to 1,897 pieces, this edition takes its number from the year Dracula was first published. Its design focuses on Count Dracula's ability to transform into a bat. The sculpted cap and barrel resemble folded wings, recalling the mysterious nature of the character. As light moves across the surface, a dramatic interplay of light and shadow emerges.

The writing instrument is crafted from Ag 925 sterling silver with an oxidised finish and ruthenium-coated fittings. Red garnets surrounding the mother-of-pearl Montblanc emblem subtly reference a vampire's bite.

The cone is inspired by the columns outside London's Lyceum Theatre, where Bram Stoker worked as theatre manager. The bi-coloured 18k gold nib is engraved with the masks of comedy and tragedy, another reference to his theatrical career.

Writing Experience & Collectibility

Both fountain pens are fitted with handcrafted 18K gold nibs, each with its own unique engraving and the smooth writing experience Montblanc is known for. For collectors, the two editions offer different ways to appreciate Bram Stoker's legacy. The Writers Edition Limited Edition centres on the symbolism of Dracula, while the Limited Edition 1897 explores Count Dracula's transformation into a bat alongside references to the author's life and career. The only thing left is deciding whether you're brave enough to own one.
