FEEL Nova Stella: Exploring the Unknown

In search of inspiration for its latest FEEL collection, Nova Stella, Scribo revisits Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Inspiration

The edition takes inspiration from the final journey of Ulysses, as told by Dante in Canto XXVI of the Inferno. Driven by an immense desire to explore what lies beyond the known world, Ulysses begins his journey by sea, aware of the risks ahead yet curious to see what mankind has yet to reach. As he crosses the Pillars of Hercules and sails far into the Southern Hemisphere, the familiar stars that once guided him disappear below the horizon, revealing a sky unlike anything he has seen before, much like a new idea taking shape on paper.

Nova Stella celebrates both the curiosity to explore the unknown and the courage it takes to push beyond limits. By extension, writing can also feel like a journey into the unknown. We often put pen to paper, curious and eager to discover new ideas, without even knowing where it will take us.

Design & Materials

The new Nova Stella is based on the dodecagonal silhouette of the FEEL series and features a cosmic brown-patterned design crafted from precious resin. It is offered in two variations, one with rose-gold trim and the other with platinum trim. Each is limited to 133 pieces, a reference to Verse 133 of Canto XXVI of the Inferno, where Ulysses describes the appearance of an unknown mountain in the distance after months of navigation, marking the furthest point of his journey beyond the known world. The limitation number, as well as the production year, are engraved on the pen's grip section.

Writing Experience & Collectibility

The fountain pen comes equipped with a piston-filling mechanism that can hold up to 1.42 ml of ink and is available with two nib options: an 18k gold nib and a flexible 14k gold nib, both fitted with ebonite feeders. The 18k gold nib is available in widths ranging from EEF to BBB, with a Stub option for more expressive line variation.
