Souverän M600 Black Fountain Pen
In 1929, Pelikan introduced the world's first differential piston mechanism, allowing the piston in the fountain pen to rotate faster than the barrel end due to two different threads. Despite design and technical changes over the years, the basic mechanism remains the same. The 400 model, launched in 1950 with a green-striped barrel, became a Pelikan symbol. In the 1980s, it was named Souverän. The barrel's production involves multiple stages, transforming raw cotton into a seamless striped sheet, which is then shaped, sanded, and cut. Gold rings are added with precision, and the pen is polished, featuring the classic "pelican beak" clip. If you love classics, you likely own a Pelikan Souverän.
